A great day of blessings

Sorry, no pictures. I just wanted to write about my nice autumn day. Autumn is my all time favorite season and this afternoon I got to spend time outside in the crisp air raking leaves and cleaning up the flower beds. I didn't want this Autumn to slip by without my participation.
Today my friend Kiel and I also attended our Bishop's wife's funeral. She had been battling an aggressive form of cancer since June. When you are in a singles ward, your bishopric kind of becomes more sets of parents and it is quite sad to have her leave. I can only imagine how hard it is for her children, especially the one that is my age and is engaged. It would be very hard to have your mother absent for your wedding and grandchildren. However, there is a silver lining or two. She doesn't have to suffer anymore. Also, it is such a blessing to belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and have the knowledge that we will see our loved ones again after this life on Earth is over. With the amazing and sacred sealing power, our families can truly be TOGETHER FOREVER!
How neat is that !?! I love the gospel and the hope and stability it brings to our lives. It is sad to have her removed our Earthly lives, but the story isn't over and that is so exciting!

A Fun Fall Day

I LOVE this little boy. As you know he is my "nephew" and even though I am getting my first biological nephew in February, Kota is still my nephew. Yesterday he came and spent the day with me. He is growing up so fast! He is running now and he only has 2 speeds. BUSY and asleep. He is exploring everything and catching on so fast. He is super smart and very observant. He has decided that our big lab dog is okay. We spent the morning playing with the dog. Our dog has a soccer ball that is his and so we found Kota a red ball to play with. Jazz would bring me his ball and I would kick it or throw it and then he would go get and bring it back to me. Kota would do the same thing! Of course when the dog came running back, he was panting, so when Kota would bring his ball back to me, he would look at the dog and pant. It was so cute! We went to the dollar store and got him a little football to play with which he thought was awesome. We ran to the grocery store to get food for lunch and when he saw the display of bananas, he started pointing at them and getting excited. So for lunch he had milk, bananas, and graham crackers. We went to drop off a baby shower invitation to my great grandma who lives next door and Kota had a blast exploring her house and playing peek-a-boo with her. Then he decided he was exhausted and we came home, turned on Tangled, laid on the couch, and within 10 minutes, he was out. After his nap we had more fun emptying the Tupperware cupboard and coloring. It was a great day and was so fun!

I also got my first custom holiday order this week on Etsy. A tree skirt!!! It turned out great and I actually would not have thought to make a tree skirt with those colors, but the girl who ordered it must be able to envision these things very well.

Update!

It's been too long since I updated my blog. My life is pretty much the same ole' thing these days, so my posts may be far and few between. :( My best friend Kayla became a mother last week! She had a precious little girl! EEEEK! It's so exciting when your friends become parents. I have been chilling at home finding various projects and relaxing. I have also been working on a baby shower for Chelsea. I am getting my very first nephew!!!!! (Well, biologically...) She is due in February, but to avoid the holiday craziness, I am throwing her shower the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Carson is already sooooo spoiled by me and I will have to put up pics to show you what I mean. The fabric Chelsea likes for her nursery is not something already made, so I have been making her nursery.

I already have the crib bumpers done and need to get working on the quilt and dust ruffle.

Oh and I already have the curtains done! I have made all of the invitations and am just working on getting addresses so I can get them all sent out. This week for piano lessons we had our annual Halloween group theory lesson & party. All 4 of my students are new to this and they had a riot. I had a cowgirl and 3 witches. I like to get them all together to shake things up once in a while and keep piano fun.
I did an unconventional pumpkin this year. It is fake!!! Then I can keep it and use it later. It also doesn't rot!!! :) I thought it turned out pretty cute:

I also got a piggy bank and painted it, it is part of my save for my future plan.
This is really the only new things in my life right now, but I guess it is something. Perhaps soon I will have more interesting things to blog about!

My Adventures in Crafting

My adventures these days seem to be crafting, although for the last 2 weeks I haven't done any crafting as I have been helping Chelsea paint and tile her new house! One of these days I will get back to my own house and be crafting again! I am throwing Chelsea a baby shower so my next craft project will probably be invitations! I'm excited to get started creating things again! For anyone reading who doesn't know this, on Etsy users have the opportunity to create Treasury Lists. They usually pick a theme, and then find products they like and put it in the list. The more views these Treasury Lists get, they move up the list and can eventually end up on the home page of Etsy. I have had the honor of having some of my items featured in the lists that other people are making and if you have time, you should check them out. My products have been put in collections with amazing and beautiful products!

Jack-O-Lanterns

Blue Polka Dots in My Mind

Blues

You should go check out these lists! One of these days I think I will put one together and then I will put a link to it here!

The Little Sister

I don't really know what it is like to be the little sister as I have 2 younger sisters and 1 younger brother, but I got to be the "little sister" last night. I'm sure it is not the real thing, but it was fun! My friend Nyla, her sister and her 2 daughters & Kota took me to IKEA with them last night. Both of Nyla's daughters are older than me, so I got to be the youngest! We took off from work a little bit early and all met up at Nyla's house. Nyla's sister drove so that we could all ride together. Me and Teisha sat on either side of Kota. He is so stinkin' cute! We had dinner at IKEA and had a great time walking around the showroom getting great ideas and then picking up stuff in the marketplace. Chelsea wanted a dish drying rack (since her new house doesn't have a dishwasher) and a cheese grater container. I was able to get them both for her! I think Kota loved having 5 women to keep him occupied and happy! We had a lot of laughs and a great time.
