A Great Weekend

Today was a great Saturday. I looked forward to it all week!! My friends were moving so I offered to take their adorable baby for the day so they could get right to work. He came over this morning and spent all morning and the early afternoon with us. I absolutely love him!!!!!! I don't have any nieces or nephews and he is as much my nephew as anything. He is getting so big and animated. He is such a happy kid! He crawled into my lap reached over my shoulder to show Kenna his pacifier, and crash, he was out. He was pretty cute!

Then we had an awesome time rolling his little walker all over the hardwood. He would talk, giggle, and smile all the while. It was so fun to play with him today. Once he was back with his parents and our errands were run, I checked my email to find that I had an Etsy sale!!! Yipee! It is so exciting!
Here is a video clip of him running around the house! He is just so stinkin' cute!

After the week I had, this was a great relief and joy!
P.S. Just a thought, while darts may be a fun game, the whole idea of throwing darts until you hit the target is kind of a crappy one.

Another year of Smithfield Royalty

This year I was in charge of the Smithfield Health Days Scholarship Pageant again. I had an excellent committee and it wasn't nearly as stressful this year as it was last year! Eleven girls participated and our five judges had a tough time narrowing it to 5! The girls did fantastic and worked really hard. I was a bit nervous this year since we couldn't get Sky View and had to do it at the new church house in Smithfield. It worked great!!!!!!! Also, since we didn't have to pay for Sky View, we had a lot more wiggle room in the budget! My whole family also came to help and support me, even Chelsea & Connor! This year I realized how I have been blessed by amazing people in my life who were willing to give of their time to help out with this program! My committee put a lot of work and time into this and Mom, Dad, Kenna, and Chase were with me all day helping out wherever they could. My great friend and her husband even gave up their Saturday and were judges for us!

This may sound cheesy, but this program changed my life when I participated in 2005. I was always shy and I wouldn't say that my self confidence was the greatest. After I put myself out there and learned some very valuable communication skills, I had a great deal more self confidence and was willing to try new things. I have used those skills throughout my life and also made 4 new friends I never would have become friends with. Because of this, I have felt a desire to help the program live on and these girls do their best. There was one girl in particular this year that I really wanted to make this a great experience for her. It was very hard for her to do this and not only did she do it, SHE DID GREAT! She is now one of the 2011 Smithfield Royalty members.

SE Needham Jewelers in Logan helped us out with jewelry. All the girls who participated received a pearl bracelet and Miss Congeniality, received a pearl necklace. Waving at Daisies was our entertainment (this is usually a duo, but one of the girls was sick) and she did fantastic! My dad took pictures during the program and put them on his website. Click on this link to see the pictures that he took and to see the winners.

Featuring an Extreme Makeover

It has been a busy week for me! I got the carseat covers done for McKenna's friends. I promised pictures and here they are:

I am also getting ready for the Scholarship Program. It is on Saturday the 23rd! I hope I get everything put together for it. I am having a hard time getting in the mind set for it this year, so I have been pretty slow getting things taken care of for it. I need to focus and just get everything done for this program! This year I have been very fortunate to have two fantastic ladies helping me and they have really helped to take a load off my shoulders!
I am still hoping that my Etsy shop will be a good thing since I really enjoy making all of these fun projects, but can't really justify keeping it up without selling some of it! I have been making apron and chef hat sets and our friend's little boy agreed to help me with the boys' stuff! He came over this week and modeled them and looked great!
I am hoping to get pictures of the girl sets up soon!
Okay, now for the Extreme Makover..........................................

"MOVE THAT BUS!!!!"

WAHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got a new car! Finally! On top of that, I got my dream car! I have been looking to buy this car since before I graduated from College (over a year ago!) I didn't plan on purchasing a vehicle this weekend, but, it was the right car, the right color and the right price! Plus I got more for my trade in than I expected! :)
So the new part of my life (and an additional long day at the dealership to top off a busy week) is a Hyundai Santa Fe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A splurge and my guy

So I totally splurged for my birthday! I got a YUDU!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For anyone who doesn't know what it is, it is a personal screen printer. This has come in handy while I have been making my own labels for my shop and yesterday I did a couple of shirts. I will try to put up some pics of them. It was 50% off and is way easy to use. The other great thing: You can use your Michaels coupons on them!!!!

My parents, Chase and the dog went out of town for the weekend. I was able to get SO MUCH done without any interruptions. I put up a bunch new stuff on etsy, screen printed my shirts, did my laundry, cleaned my room {but it needs to be redone since it is small and if I get a couple of things out, it is all undone!} cleaned the kitchen, made brownies, and preshrunk fabric for carseat covers I am making for Kenna {her friends are having babies}. I will definitely try to put up pics of those since the fabric she chose is way cute! I was busy being productive and I got a text from my friend. She asked if I could watch her adorable baby! He and I are tight! Of course I said yes and they brought him over to me.

He crawls like a pro, can talk your ear off, has decided that it is time for him to try to walk and stand, and gives you hugs and kisses! We had a ton of fun playing with toys, rearranging my DVD shelf, chatting and looking at his reflection in the glass of the entertainment center.
So this is the movie he wanted to watch?
