Band & Having Fun

Yesterday the Sky View Band competed at Utah State University. Their show this year is "Jekyl and Hyde" and me. my family and my friend Heather all went to watch. It was really cool and they did a good job! They took 3rd place and I think McKenna had fun. She really seems to enjoy being on the colorguard and doing rifle, she has also made a lot of friends in the band. I am looking forward to going to watch them at another band competition. Heather & I spent some time taking Chelsea to run some errands. She had her tonsils out on Thursday, and yesterday really wasn't her best day and she probably should have just stayed in bed! Later Saturday night, Heather and I were simply passing the time by playing SingStar on my playstation when there was a knock at the door. It was my neighbor Sky and he asked if he could join us. It was so funny. When he wasn't singing, he was doing a commentary on each song. We had loads of fun. It is usually just me & Heather playing because everyone else we ask to play thinks that it is embarassing to sing in front of people. Not Sky! I think we may do a SingStar party again!

Wow! You know you are in trouble when it is only the 5th week of the semester and you are tired of school and are wishing you had a few weeks of vacation. I am taking 2 online classes and 2 on campus classes this semester. My online classes are Biology and Balancing Work & Family. Biology is a bit of stretch for me, but if I could begin to understand how the professor is setting up the class, I think it would be easier. Balancing Work & Family is a pretty easy and interesting class. My 2 on campus classes keep me pretty busy with fun projects that are definitely pushing me out of my comfort zone. Oh and my 2 on campus classes are Dress & Humanity and Interior Design. Even though I should be spending every minute of my spare time studying, I usually end up squeezing some much more fun activities in. Last night I started watching "The 10th Kingdom" with one of my roommates and it is a long and pretty funny movie. I also have had time to help my friends and roommates out with some things they have to do. I am teaching piano lessons to a couple of children in my mom's neighborhood. It is really fun and sometimes a stretch. It's really cool to see the looks on their faces, when the concepts click or the piece of music is played flawlessly.

Hanging with the Roomies

The top picture is Me and Meredee and the second is Anna & Azya. I got to spend some time with my roommates this weekend and we had a lot of fun! Friday night, we had one of our neighbors come over and watch She's the Man and have treats with us. It was way fun and the movie was funny! None of us went to bed until after 1:00, then we all woke up and went to breakfast at Village Inn at 9:30. That is where these pictures were taken. The reason Meredee looks like she just woke up, is because she did. As she put it, it was like 3 am for her. She is from Cedar Hills, Utah and Anna is from Soda Springs, Idaho. Azya is a cache valley native and went to Sky View! I actually went to school with her older brother. At breakfast we had a lot of laughs and got to know each other a bit better. It was pretty awesome. Then on Saturday night we stayed up and watched The Swan Princess, which it turns out, we all really like! Although Meredee poked fun a little bit at the movie, she still really likes it and it made us laugh more. I have had so much fun with my roommates!

An Update on My Life

I am a senior at Utah State University this year studying Family & Consumer Science, I am not yet sure what I am going to do with this degree, but I really enjoy my classes and what I am learning! In fact, the requirements for my degree were changed this last summer and since I wasn't officially accepted into the program, they affect me. But they are really fun and interesting classes and it didn't really add any time until graduation. I am know taking textiles and interior design classes! If everything goes as I would like, I will graduate at the end of Summer 2009. I am living in an apartment in Logan with 3 awesome roommates! They are all younger than me, but I absolutely love them. I couldn't have asked for better roommates. They like to do stuff all together and are all very focused and great students. They also are great examples to me. According to my roommates, we have a great ward, I haven't figured this out yet because I have not been as much as they have. I spent a week watching my aunt and uncles' five children and so I missed church one week and then I got the flu the weekend after. I had so much fun watching their kids though, it was awesome. I was still able to work, I just cut down my hours, and still was able to keep up with my school work. Oh and that week, I made a wedding cake for a friend's wedding. It took quite a bit of time, but it was a great opportunity! I am still very busy, but I am staying happy amidst all I need to do. I am taking 12 credits at school, and still work as a secretary at Ipaco. I also have a few other odd jobs that provide me with some much needed income here and there.
