Important Trivial Things about Me

I was inspired by a friend of mine who did a post about the things you should know to be her BFF. I thought it was so cute that I decided to do one myself!

I HATE the sound of paper rubbing together, weird, I know, but it makes
me gag and shiver!

I put together my current celebrity crushes:

Gerard Butler
Josh Duhamel
Jake Gylenhaal
Victor Browne

I pride myself on being able to speak movie, so if I ever say something to you and you don't understand, it is probably a line from a movie!

I laugh at some commercials and will probably still laugh
about them even when they aren't on.
I really like the Mayham Like Me commercials

I LoVe kids, especially the really little ones

I love Il Divo and sometimes I love ROCK, my music mood
swings quite a bit:

My favorite music to listen to is movie scores, my top ones right now are: Clash of the Titans, Robin Hood, and Prince of Persia

My Top 3 Movies (currently) are:
Lord of the Rings
Prince of Persia
How to Train Your Dragon

Clowns are about the freakiest, creepiest, most disturbing
things on the planet! :?

One of my pet peeves is when people can't seem to be themselves. I can't stand to watch people fake it, just be honest and be who you are!

I LOVE Blue, but I really like Black.

People think that I am quiet (and I am shy!) but once I get to know
you, I am NOT quiet anymore!

I WON'T watch scary movies, why would I do something like that?!?!

I LOVE MY EYES
I have a strange obsession with office supplies, fabric, and movies. I sometimes have to ground myself from buying them and even walking down the aisles they are in! :)

Confession: I have not seen Avatar or Inception (mostly because I can always find something else to do!)

The most peaceful feeling is being out in the crisp (not cold) air walking through a
lush green forest!

The show that makes me cry (which really doesn't happen often)
is the Love Comes Softly series from the Hallmark
channel.

Vintage Wanna Bee

My friend has a blog and an awesome boutique on etsy. It is called Vintage Wanna Bee and it is the cutest stuff. I think I may end up going haywire and collecting all of her stuff. She is very talented and I think that she is pretty awesome too! She has a Disney Princess inspired collection that she shows tutorials. These are just a few of my favorites:

Everyone should go check it out. Vintage Wanna Bee blog is in my list on the right side of friends and family blogs that I follow. She also has link on her blog to her etsy boutique! Everyone go check it out, just be warned that you will probably be hooked! :)

Thank You Nyla

My friend Nyla is an excellent seamstress and she made me this dress! She & Lloyd also gave me the earrings and necklace! I love it! I picked out the pattern and fabric, and she did the rest! She even altered some stuff on the pattern. Thanks a ton Nyla!

Look what Ipaco can do

We now have a plasma machine at work and here is an example of what we can do now! It is pretty cool. They also did Christmas trees, but I haven't taken a picture of it yet.

Merry Christmas Anna & Meredee

I don't live with Anna & Meredee anymore, but I have missed them like crazy and so we got together last week to have a little gift exchange and catch up. It was kind of weird to go back to my old apartment and old roommates, but other than that everything has changed. They got me a really cute royal blue sweater and some comfy slippers, but I think my favorite was the cute card they made for me. It was really good to get to chill with them for a few hours.

The Boy Who Has Stolen My Heart

My friends have a relatively new addition to the family, he is the cutest little guy and the happiest baby I have ever encountered. He has me wrapped around his finger and I am always offering to babysit and telling his parents to go out on a date so I can watch him.
He has the cutest dimples and he is always smiling at me and trying to talk to me!

The Season of Christmas Begins

Well, our Christmas season began this weekend. The day after Thanksgiving mom started decorating for Christmas and the fun only continued throughout the weekend. Last week I put up the Christmas tree at work: (Can you see the raging blizzard out the window? It had started only 10 minutes before!)

Then on Saturday, Chase and I listened to some great rockin' Christmas tunes while we set up our tree. We had fun looking through the ornaments and seeing what years we received them. Our Grandma gives us an ornament every year so when we start our own family, we have a bunch of ornaments. The only ones missing this year were Chelsea's since they are now on her tree.

I really wanted to do gingerbread houses this year and McKenna and Chase decided they wanted to as well. Sunday night we did our houses. Chase and McKenna lost attention and got done pretty quick, which worked out well for me since they gave me their leftover candy! I didn't get a picture of Chase's house, but here is mine & McKenna's:

McKenna tried to make a snowman, but he turned out kind of creepy.

Thanksgiving

I know we are a couple of days away from Thanksgiving, but I just wanted to blog about some things that I am grateful for.
I have an awesome little brother! He is always taking care of me and wanting to do things with me. Yesterday he paid for me and him to go to Harry Potter and he even paid for the snacks! I'm grateful for safety and protection from the Lord. Tonight Dad and I had to get home in the horrible blizzard. We stayed at work late, waiting out traffic and trying to wait out the worst of the storm. We left when it cleared a bit, but then the truck started acting funny. I silently prayed for safety and for the truck to get us home for the whole trip. We made it safely and the truck did make it home. We aren't sure whether or not it will start in the morning, but we are okay tonight. I'm thankful for a wonderful family and I enjoy living at home with them. I had driving in the snow and was able to go to work with dad today so that I didn't have to. It turned out to be an excellent call this evening. I am also grateful for great friends and coworkers. I love it when a friend emails me, comments on facebook, calls me, or texts me. It totally makes my day! I love the people I work with and I'm glad that I get to spend my days with them.
Heavenly Father has blessed me with so much and I'm very grateful!

My new habitat

I have moved home and I think I have finally gotten my new room put together:

Projects, Projects, Projects

Well as my good friend Heather would say, "Shanae and her projects." I usually have a long list of projects and I'm really good at starting them, but not always so great about finishing them. For example, I have a quilt that has been ready for binding for 4 years and I just haven't gotten around to it and I can't say it is because I didn't have time. I have done a lot of other projects in the mean time. However, thanks to fusible batting, I did get some done this last weekend:
I also painted a bag for church and this cute little apron:

I also painted a jewelry box ivory to match my bedroom:

Just a Saturday in October

This is my favorite time of year!!! Autumn is my all time favorite season and I crave being in the outdoors, specifically up the canyon. I haven't had time to go up the canyon, but I have been keeping busy. I have been working on a pile of projects, which I will post pictures of when I get them done. I got a lot of stuff started, but I haven't finished them yet. I will though, then I can put them away!!! Since the counselors in our Relief Society presidency are relatively new, they decided to have a day where we as a presidency would spend a day together bonding. For a service project in the morning we went through all of the pictures of our ward members and identified them for our photo directory. After all that, Sara (the president) and I discovered that our pictures are missing, so we are not in the photo directory as of today. Then we went up to the Logan Temple.
Stephanie (1st counselor), me, Sara (president), and Heather (2nd counselor).
I sat by the fountain for a while and it was so peaceful and beautiful. While I was there some young couples asked me to take pictures of them so they could both be in them.
The Logan temple is so beautiful and it definitely my favorite. Alyssa came over in the evening and we painted masks and watched "Little Rascals". She had never seen it and she has a gift for quoting movies. I am so proud!
I kind of missed my eye while I was trying to take the picture. "Tadum"

Tonight's Top Picks

As my scanning of family photos continues, you will see more of our old family photos. In fact, for a great one of my mom & dad before they got married, you should check out my mom's blog. Here are my top 3 of tonight. Chase was so cute that it was almost impossible to pick only a handful of pictures that I wanted to share.
The next two are of Chase:

McKenna Memories

I have begun the project of scanning our family's photos into the computer and tonight I did McKenna's pictures. These were some of my favorites:
The Halloween one is my all time favorite! She is Cinderella, but Halloween is supposed to be scary! I'm sure more pictures will follow as I continue in my efforts to scan all of our photos.

Change

My life seems to be full of change these days. I guess that is what happens when we grow up. Chelsea got married to Connor Balls on August 21st. I now have my first brother-in-law. Chelsea is the first from my family to get married so it is a little bit of a change.
All of our hard work paid off and the wedding was beautiful. We have amazing friends & family who all so willingly helped us with anything we needed. We are so blessed to so many great people surrounding us!
McKenna & I were among Chelsea's bridesmaids. Chase was an extra photographer and got some amazing pictures!
A lot of family was there to support Chelsea and Connor and it was so great to see them and get to spend some time with them.

Williams Family:

White Family:
It was a beautiful day and I am so excited for Chelsea and to have Connor as part of our family.
Sorry about this long post, but as you can tell, there have been a lot of changes in my life. The next change did not just affect me, but also a lot of young single adults in Cache Valley. They did away with student wards and now they are all YSA wards. They made 2 new YSA stakes: Smithfield & Providence. As a result the branch I have been attending for a year is now a ward. Also as part of this, the boundaries are being strictly followed. You attend where you live and there aren't exceptions. I LOVE my ward and was not about to leave it. So another change occurred this week. I have moved home. It will be a bit of adjustment, but I know that I am doing what is right and the Lord is looking out for me and will bless me. Another change goes hand in hand with the change of moving home, it is leaving behind my awesome roommates Anna & Meredee. This would have been the 3rd year living with them. I absolutely love those girls and that is thing that made moving home so hard. On Thursday, we went to Village Inn for a goodbye dinner. It was a bittersweet evening for me. I'm sad to leave them, but I'm excited to be home (I think it is because this is the right thing to do and Lord is helping me out tremendously).

On Friday my friend Kayla got married. I really wanted to go to her reception, which was in Kaysville, but was a little concerned about my car getting me to and from it. Nyla offered to take me down and we ended up making a party of it. She, her sister Allison, her daughter Teisha, and Teisha's baby Dakota came with me. We stopped at the new Italian Ice shop in Providence, Zeppes for Gelata. It was amazing!!! Then we went to her beautiful reception and it was so great to see her again. I'm really going to miss her, but this is a change that happens. After the reception, we stopped at Red Robin for dinner and then headed home. It was a great evening and was fun to do something different from my day to day life. I have gotten completely moved in and so far so good! As these changes began to occur, I completely agreed with Sheldon from the Big Bang Theory when he said "Change is never good, they say it is, but it's not." I am learning that change isn't always ideal or fun, but it is a necessary part of life.
