A Project for McKenna

So I made a skirt for McKenna for her birthday. She picked out the fabric and then she picked out which skirt out of my patterns that she wanted me to make.
This is what she chose to wear with it.
That was my success for the weekend! I was happy to scratch something off of my to-do list even if it is something that I enjoy.

A Late Birthday Gift I want to share

Heather gave me a late birthday gift and said that she had to explain it first. She said that it was to remind me of what being a child was like since I was so old now! Don't worry she will be 21 the 2nd week of April.
She gave me this basket with a Easter Mr. Potato Head, a Pound Puppy, a Skip-It, a My Little Pony, mess free coloring pages with the magic marker, a bag of cadbury eggs, and then a ton of easter eggs filled with random candy. It was so cute and it made me laugh! Yesterday was my roommate, Meredee's birthday. She turned 20. Since our other roommate Anna is throwing her a big party tonight, I picked up a cake and we had cake and I gave her the present that I had for her. I got her a luandry bag (hers ripped), a fleece blanket, peeps (her favorite candy) and jelly beans. She was pretty excited about the blanket! Then we went out to visit Dad and McKenna for a little bit and then we met with Heather at Juniper for something to eat. Then to finish off Meredee's birthday, we watched Madagascar 2. I just thought that this gift was way to cute to keep to myself!!!

I am 21!?!?!

Wow. I am just getting time to write anything! Truth be told, I haven't been able to get to my printer because my room is way too messy! That is how I transfer photos to my computer. My room is still trashed, but I can now get to my printer! Spring Break was awesome for the simple fact that I didn't have school! I ended up going to some Smithfield Stake activity for the older singles to accompany Deanna Lindley. McKenna also sang, but she accompanied herself. It felt so good to be able to play the piano again. It has been a long time since I have had time to play and this gave me the perfect reason not to stop. Last week I took McKenna shopping for fabric for a skirt for her birthday, she picked out really cute fabric. I will post a picture once I give it to her and take a picture of it on her! Saturday was my birthday! I can't really believe that I am 21, I just don't know what has happened to the time since I graduated high school, but maybe I have been too busy with school to notice! The family went to the Coppermill for lunch and then I went out to Smithfield. My parents got me a rotary cutter, mat, and ruler for my birthday! Chelsea was really sweet and got me a couple of movies: "Nanny Diaries" and "The Family Stone".
We had pizzookies and watched "The City of Ember". I went to the Summit Creek Branch again with Chelsea on Sunday. I want to move back home just so that I can go to that ward! It really is awesome. Then Heather, Chelsea, and I went to hear dad speak in another ward. He did a really good job. We went back to school on Monday, I get a week off of sewing class since I am ahead with my skirt. It is done!
I really like it! My roommates are back this week! Meredee gave me "Pillow Talk" and "Move Over Darling", both with Doris Day. They are hilarious. Anna is getting me a pattern and fabric. I wonder if I am obsessed with sewing??? I like it and I guess it is a productive thing to do!

What the??????

I know I was going to try to post with a picture, but I just had to ask, What is up with the snow???????????? I don't like snow and I was just getting excited about the weather warming up and things beginning to look and feel like spring. Then on Monday morning I woke up to quite a bit of shoveling to do! I shovel the walks at the apartments which can make for a morning of hard work when a snow storm like this comes in. And then to my dismay, after work I had more shoveling to do! I was so wet, tired, sore and honestly a bit cranky by the time I was done. I am so ready for the sun to come back out and melt all of the snow!!! It is really strange for it to be Spring Break and yet it feels like Christmas break in a world of white!

Sorry it has been a while....

I am sorry it has been a while since I last posted. Part of me was waiting to be able to post with a picture, I guess that isn't going to happen this time after all. We have been working on our skirts in our sewing class and I am almost done. When I get it done, I will post a picture of it. Last weekend I stayed with McKenna and Chase. I did some scrapbooking and shuttled Chase to get a book signed and to a swim meet which he did amazing at! This last week has been super busy for me and also exciting! On Monday I had a meeting for my practicum. Then on Tuesday after I taught piano, we had a meeting for the pageant. Wednesday was my catch up day, although I don't think I got a whole lot done! Thursday our family went to the Draper Temple Open House. It was a really neat experience. The temple was beautiful and the feeling was so peaceful, I was able to forget all of my stresses and worries for the day and it felt so rejuvinating. The temple is not even dedicated yet! I know the feeling will be even greater once it is a dedicated temple! We rushed home from Draper and then mom and me went to the Pageant meeting with the girls and their mothers. It turned out great and we have 12 girls participating this year. They all seem like great girls too! Right after class on Friday, I met with another girl who works at the 4-H and we went grocery shopping for the teen sewing camp and then packed up the van. I rode with her and a 15 year old girl and all of the food. We went to the Bear Lake Training Center overnight. The girls made bags out of zippers (they are way cool!), tablecloths, napkins, and hot pads. I spent most of Friday evening untangling about 50 yards of zipper!!!!! It was kicking my butt! We got home about 3:30 yesterday and I was exhausted, so after a nap, I went to Jacob & Amy's reception last night and then hung out with the family. Today I went the the Smithfield singles branch with Chelsea, I like it so much better than my ward!!!! Too bad!!! I will try to write sooner and have pictures next time!
