Christmas

We had a nice family Christmas this year. Chase was so excited for Christmas this year because he couldn't wait to play his new XBOX. We went over to Chelsea and Connor's for lunch and to open gifts with them, as well as see all of the fun things that Carson got. It was a very nice, relaxing day of spending time with each other. We were also spoiled and I finished my Animators' Collection of dolls with the last 3 I needed as gifts. Mom made Carson a Mickey Mouse apron which he loved and went well with his kitchen and food that he got.  I took the day after Christmas off this year and it was wonderful to have a weekend where I did what I wanted to.
Also on the day after Christmas, I booked me a flight to Arizona. I found a good deal and decided to jump so that I could go see my best friend and my nephew that is already changing so much since I saw him last. I saw him when he was about 6 weeks old and by the time I get there, he will be about 7 months old! Wow time flies!

Deep Breath

Today I was released as the Primary pianist after serving there for about a year and a half there. I had a feeling that it was coming, especially since I was beginning to be comfortable as the pianist. I'm now heading into a daunting calling {one of the 2 callings that most people don't want}, I am the new Primary chorister. Thankfully I have had a couple of weeks to come to terms with this and gather as much information as I can to help me feel prepared. It also helps that my dear friend in the ward, is going to be the new pianist. It will be wonderful working with her! I think we will be a great team! Now I'm trying to stay on top of things to reach my three goals for singing time: 1. Have fun,            2. Learn the gospel and songs, 3. feel the Spirit.
Here we go on another adventure and a HUGE step out of my comfort zone!

Children

This week has been a big week for being with children. Aside from having Carson, some of my other nephews and niece came over this week. On Tuesday afternoon, Jax came home from work with me and played with me and Carson for about an hour. Then on Wednesday I went and sat with my friend's sleeping child for a couple of hours, then on Friday, Kota and Kaylee came over for a couple of hours. So this week I got to see them all, except Carter, who I would love to see, but he is in a different state right now. Miss him and his mom!
Chase has been so excited for Christmas this year. He has had a countdown on his phone and on the bathroom mirror. The other night I walked in to find this:

Christmas Parties

Yesterday we had another family Christmas party. This one was in Salt Lake. Carson had so much fun running around and playing with his cousins. He also was spoiled with fun new toys. He wanted me to ride back with him in his car, so I did. He was so funny. He threw a toy on the floor and wanted me to get it. I told him now. When he asked why, I told him I wouldn't get it because he threw it on the floor on purpose and it was dark so I couldn't see it. He replied with, "We have a big problem then."

Fun

Carson is so much fun right now, despite the week of potty training. The other day he kept pulling my jacket off the chair and my consequence turned into something he thought was hilarious. I tied him up in it like a straight-jacket, then he would fall on the floor face first, giggle, try to get up and then say he was stuck and ask for help. He is so much fun!
Today he found Olaf in the KitchenAid. So he called me at work to tell me that Olaf wanted to make cookies. After work that is what we did. While we were mixing the cookies, he would grab Olaf and let him look in the ball to see that we were making cookies. When I would look at the recipe book, he would look in my little planner {which he called his special book} and "read his recipe" too.
It was a lot more work making cookies with him, but after we were all done, he sat on the couch and said that he had fun making cookies today.

Riggott Family Party

On Saturday afternoon, we headed up to Pocatello to have a get together with the Riggott side of the family. We got to see mostly everyone and have a nice time visiting at Pizza Pie Cafe. It was so good to see everyone, it has been WAY too long!

Thanksgiving

It is amazing that Thanksgiving came and went pretty quick! This year we had the whole family as it was Chelsea and Connor's year to spend with our family. We had a nice meal at home. Poor Carson had been very sick the day before and was still trying to bounce back from that so his emotions were all over the place. It was still nice to have him there. In the evening, he decided that we should set up the Christmas tree, so he roped McKenna and I into getting it out and helping him. He handed McKenna branches to put on the tree and decorated it. He is so excited for Christmas this year! I think it is awesome!
Today we are heading North to see Grandpa "Bop". I haven't seen him in at least 4 years and I sure do miss him. Unfortunately we should have done this earlier, but his recent diagnosis of stage 4 cancer made this a bit more of a priority. I'm so excited to see him again and get to visit with him as well as spend some time with one of my favorite uncles and his family. While I was going through pictures of me growing up I came across this one that I felt was appropriate for today's post. It is my Grandpa and me when I was just a baby. I love this picture!

Forts, Imagination and Fun

Carson is at such a fun stage right now! He is all about imaginative play and loves to hide and build "tents". We have been having a ton of fun this week.

He has created a hide out in my closet where he hangs out, hides, reads and stashes stuff.
Today we built a tent with a blanket that took up a good chunk of my bedroom. He loved it and hid from Uncle Chase. When Chase got home he was so excited that he was like shaking and trying not to giggle because he was supposed to be quite while hiding.
He also likes sitting still and having you take his picture.

Etsy orders...

Thankfully I have been busy for the last couple of weeks. I'm almost done with the large order I got and am still working on the other ones coming in. I hope that things stay like this though! I love the business! Here are the some of the ones I've gotten done.

I also got a couple of my Heritage Makers stuff too! I did my calendar for next year along with an ornament for Carson, one for Carter and a book for Heather.

My On Going Scanning Project

So I have been working on scanning in the family pictures since I moved back home. Yes, it has been a while...
I go through patches when I scan quite a bit and then it will be FOREVER until I scan again! I have been doing some scanning the last couple of days and found some wonderful memories. {The picture of my parents' wedding is not one of my memories, but without it, the rest wouldn't follow}
