The warmer weather has brought out the streak of productivity in me and so therefore, I am more busy! I make sure to spend oodles of time with Carson, but I am also trying to get other things done.
PROJECT 1: For McKenna's birthday, she really wanted a Minnie Mouse cake, I told her that I didn't know when I would have time to make her a cake like that so she had better not plan on it. The day before her birthday, I decided to do it. 4+ hours later and it was done. My first cake made out of fondant and it turned out so cute! McKenna lost her mind she was so excited!
PROJECT 2: I am trying to switch bedrooms at home. This idea was easier than it has turned out to be. I currently live in a tiny bedroom (a little more like a closet) and after living on my own, I am struggling with the space restrictions. McKenna moved out and since her plans don't include moving back home, I decided that I should take her much bigger bedroom. I have had this bedroom before, when McKenna was a baby, but it has drastically changed since then, and I couldn't handle it. While Chelsea had this bedroom, she painted 2 of the walls hot pink and ran a border across the top of the room with a star chain. It was quite cute. When McKenna moved into that room, she replaced the star chain with a Hawaiian lai chain and hung a huge picture of my dad's that is a totem pole. While these rooms were very cute and very McKenna and Chelsea, they are not so much me.
Before I could do anything about the colors of the walls, the room had to be cleaned out. Since it is an empty room, which never stays that way at our house, it has become a giant closet. I have already spent a lot of time cleaning it out, taking things to the D.I. and prodding my mom and McKenna to go through some things in there. Yesterday I was done waiting on people to move their stuff, so I did and then I primed the hot pink walls.
This weekend I am hoping to get at least the first layer of paint on the walls, if not the second. I am doing grays. I also think that my mom has decided to get new carpet for that room, so that will adjust our plans too. The carpet in that bedroom has been there since the house was built and since it has always been a kid's room, the carpet is super hammered!
So I also spend a lot of time with Carson who is changing and growing everyday. He really is an angel and we are tight buds. He loves it when I carry him up on my chest so he can see everything and hold his head up. He hangs onto me like a Koala and I think it is so cute. He is awake more and really studies you! He has also chunk-ed out and it is so cute!
