We put off making arrangements for our New Years trip this year and so we ended up going to Salt Lake City. Chelsea, Connor, and Carson couldn't join us since they both had to work. We left right after church and headed down. We didn't get much sleep that night (at least me & Kenna) since we are light sleepers and the whole family was in one room. On New Years Eve we went to the Living Planet Aquarium for a while and I loved the penguins and river otters.
Then we went to Red Robin for lunch (our favorite) and then went to Hogle Zoo. A lot has changed there since we went 2 years ago. They now have a bear exhibit and a sea lion exhibit. We went around lunch time, so most of the animals were out eating. The elephants were only out for a little bit, but we got to see them before they went back inside. They said that the baby cried when they went outside, she didn't want to. No wonder, it was freezing cold!
After the zoo, we went down the City Creek Center to poke around. Kenna and I got to be little girls again and went to the Disney store. We didn't walk out empty handed... (my adult purchase, a gray sweater).
We got to see the fountain display that was to the song "Let it Snow" and they even have fire in the center! Then we went over to Temple Square for a little bit until we all got too cold. Then we went back to our hotel and watched the ball drop. Today we went back to City Creek Center and had lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. Then we came home. I put together a large Etsy order and cleaned up. It was a quick, but very good trip!
