Arizona

Do you ever have a weekend where you just really need some time with a friend? I was lucky enough to get this during the past weekend. My very good friend and her little family lives in Mesa and I miss her terribly. Since I am single and don't have kiddos, it is easier overall for me to see her {also it gets to be a vacation for me}. Dad took me to the airport on Friday morning and I arrived in Phoenix after lunch {my flight got in 25 minutes late}. Heather and Carter picked me up and we grabbed some lunch before heading to her new apartment. Carter grew up A LOT since I saw him last {he was only 6 weeks old and now is 7 months}. I was a little bit worried about how he would react to me, especially since he gets to spend everyday with his mommy. We did just find and quickly became friends and he figured out that it didn't take much to mooch food off of me, get me to pick him up or play with him. It was wonderful to visit with Heather and catch up, this also came at a good time as I was feeling a little bit lonely. It is hard to get together with friends when you are busy and they are all busy, married, parents. Heather and John took me to Zupas {which was delicious} where we ate on the terrace.
Saturday I simply ran errands with Heather and Carter and helped her decorate her new apartment. They introduced me to a few new movies that I hadn't seen like "Big Hero 6", "Pitch Perfect" and "Guardians of the Galaxy". We went to their ward on Sunday and then spent the afternoon trying to soothe a baby that didn't feel too good. It was cold and rained on Monday, so John couldn't work so we all hung out at the apartment, watching movies, playing with Carter and playing games.
Unfortunately, Tuesday morning came too quick and I had to head home on a day when Utah actually got a winter storm {almost the first of this winter}. It was really hard for me to leave Heather and I miss them terribly. I sure do love them and am so thankful to have such wonderful friends and be blessed with the opportunity to visit them. Thankfully my flight was only delayed about 8 minutes and Dad came to get me because of the weather and road conditions.
Carson was really excited to see what I brought him home. He got a Captain America hotwheels car and a Melissa and Doug Mickey Mouse clock. He was pretty excited!

Last night Heather sent me this picture of Carter with the caption "Carter wanted to say goodnight". Isn't he just adorable????

What a fun trip!! I'm so glad you got to go! I told Paul I wouldn't mind living in Arizona, though I do love the people here and if we get more winters like this one I don't think I'd have a single complaint about living here :) Cute family and cute baby! I'm sure Carson was glad to have you back too!! Tawnya did a great job on Sunday but we missed you and are excited to have you back this Sunday!!

Thanks Kaela! I think the only reasons I would move to Arizona {willingly} would be the comfortable winters and because my friend is there. I don't like their summers and falls....
