My Ancestry

So for a while I have been interested in doing the My Ancestry DNA test. The whole idea has fascinated me. I have always known that I had ancestors that came from Denmark and England, but how much of each ancestral heritage did I get? You know, siblings get different genetic traits even though we have the same parents, so why wouldn't we get slightly different ancestral DNA?
For Christmas I got myself the DNA kit. You get it really quick and then you have to patiently wait for your results to be analyzed. I finally got my results last week!
It breaks down your ethnic make up based on your DNA as well as finding people who have also used it who show they would be related to you. I had 384 extremely likely family matches cousins 1 through 4. Most just have user names so right now I don't know exactly who they are, but it popped up with an extremely likely 2nd cousin match of Brendan Peck. It got it right on! We are 2nd cousins!
Some of the DNA results were exactly what I expected and some were not. I think it is so fascinating!
I have more genetic traits from the Andersen side of the family so I wasn't surprised to find that my largest percentage was 41% Scandinavian. This is my breakdown:

Scandinavian 41%
Ireland 29%
Great Britain 17%
West Europe 7%
Italy/Greece 3%
Finland/Northwest Russia 2%
East Europe 1%
Iberian Peninsula <1 br="">

I was surprised by how much Irish I have and that Finland showed up on the list even if it was just a little bit. I was not surprised (knowing what I do about my family history) that I was more heavily Scandinavian and that I 100% European in my ethnicity!
McKenna is doing it and I am so interested to see in what ways our DNA will be similar and different.
