At the end of January we got to celebrate my Great Grandma
Dorothy Griffiths’ 100th Birthday. I have been blessed to grow up
with her in my life, in fact, we have lived next door to her since I was 5 and
we lived in her basement for a short time even before that! We had a big party
and most of the family was there. We did family pictures and then even a giant
family picture. Can you imagine trying to get 100ish people in a photo??? My
dad is creative and got it to happen! Turns out we have a very cooperative and
patient family!
We had a wonderful meal
catered by Iron Gate Grill, games were put together for the kids to play,
guessing games for everyone and even a raffle for some great prizes! Then we
had a program. My uncle Darin and his family sang, my Dad shared a peom, my
cousins Shara & Darroll Young sang and my Grandma Andersen wrote a poem and
sang it. Then we watched a show that my uncle put together with photos and
memories of my grandma. We only watched up until 1958 for times sake. She has
lived a very full life with every trial, happiness and emotion that you can
think of.
She is such a beautiful
woman, who is so strong and a great influence on those around her, especially
her family. It was a really nice party and it was great to not only be there
with her, but to see so many other members of our family gathered there!
