I went through my keepsake box this week and found these wonderful memories inside.
I grew up with this little purple, glow-in-the-dark bear, Mom and Dad brought home this seal from Finland when I was a toddler and the blue bear my Grandma Riggott gave me. My uncle was expecting a baby and they didn't know what it was yet. So grandma got a blue bear and purple bear and told me that if the baby was a girl, I would get the blue one.
This was my baby blanket. The batting in it is pretty worn out, but the memory is what I cherish.
When I was young I really wanted a tea set, we looked everywhere and found this one for $6, which I bought and took very good care of. One year for Christmas we got these dress up dolls in a bag, we loved playing with them.
This 3 white dresses poem and picture hung on my wall for a long time. My mom put together a book of letters from my friends and family for my high school graduation. For my school to careers class, I had to make a portfolio with letters of recommendation and resumes.
I found both of my hats and tassels from high school and college graduation. I also had a couple of books from grade school that I either made or helped make.
My medal from high school graduation, a baby spoon with my name and birthday engraved in it and a memory card game that I made for my child development class.
This doll was my Grandma's. When I was little, I would drag it around the house and play with it. When my grandma got remarried and moved, she made sure that I got this doll! I was so exited! For a long time it still smelled like Grandma's house which helped to enhance my memories of it, but now after being in my room for a while, it now has lost the smell of Grandma's.
I was in Smithfield Royalty and for a whole summer wore this sash and tiara. Hairspray combined with sun has made the tiara look funny, but I had a lot of fun doing something way outside of my comfort zone and I learned a lot and made wonderful friends!
