St. George Trip!

I was blessed with the opportunity to go see another good friend last week. She and her family recently moved to Dammeron Valley and she let me come stay with them for a few days to visit and enjoy spending time with my friend.
I went on my first solo road trip (and the farthest I have driven from home by myself) and headed out on Wednesday morning. I was so excited to take a trip by myself and also stop at IKEA on the way down. I picked up items for my friends and got to explore lots of items and even find some new organizational furniture for my room {hopefully to make me less crazy}. I also found my dream kitchen!
I had lunch at IKEA and then headed south. I stopped in Fillmore for a break and to fill up the gas tank. I listened and sang along with my music. To get to Dammeron Valley, you get off the freeway in St. George and then head back north for a bit. I was so excited to see Kayla! I arrived around 5 pm on Wednesday. We had dinner, played with her kids {3 and 18 months} and chatted. It was so nice. Her new house is beautiful and roomy.
On Thursday we headed into St. George and checked out the outlets. I kind of got carried away at Del Sol. Everything changes colors in the sun! I got Carson a Monsters Inc. t-shirt, got Chase a gecko keychain and then got me some earrings, a keychain, nail polish, a Minnie Mouse tote bag and a Tinkerbell shirt. {Yep, got a bit carried away...}
Then Richard & Kayla treated me to lunch at Red Robin. It was wonderful and so fun to visit with them. On Thursday night, Kayla hosted a CutesieBee party for me and I got to meet some of her new friends and neighbors. Dammeron Valley is a cute little area and her friends are really neat.
On Friday we just hung around the house, playing with the kids, chatting and relaxing. I know that Kayla felt bad because we were going to see the Temple, but it was really nice to relax and spend time together. Then we headed into St. George and went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner. It was delicious and her son decided on Friday that we were the best of friends. He is such a sweet little boy. Her kids were so much fun to play with and talk to, even though her poor little girl had a double ear infection.
On Saturday morning, I headed home and they headed to California for a family vacation. I listened to Bryan Reagan for a while and had a good laugh and then turned my music back on. I stopped in Nephi to fill up and have a break. Then I drove until Farr West, where I really needed to just get out and walk around and get a sandwich. So I got a sandwich at Arbys and walked around the parking lot while I ate it. Even with those stops I made really good time and got to Smithfield exactly 6 hours after I left Kayla's house.
I had a wonderful time visiting my dear friend and spending time with her and her family. I'm going to have to do it again.

At IKEA I found a really cool little tent and so Mom got it and on Monday after I got home from work, we set it up and showed Carson. He loved it. He spent all of Monday afternoon in it.
On Tuesday afternoon, Heather & Carter came and visited since they are in Utah this week. Carter also really liked the tent and played with Carson.
I babysit my friends' daugther, Alyssa once a week and after she decided that the tent was okay, she loved it too. She would dance in it and giggle and wanted to play peek-a-boo. It was a huge hit this week!
