Summer Update

Summer has been flying by and yet I don't know that I have done a lot to make it do that. I am still enjoying my calling as one of the primary teachers for the Valiant 9 class. Those kids are so smart and funny! In fact this Sunday as I taught the lesson on the 2000 Stripling Warriors, one of the boys acted out the battle for me! :)
I also did double duty this Sunday since I taught my class and then played the piano for singing time. It made for a busy Sunday. Last weekend was Dakota's 2nd birthday party. Chase and I stopped by for a little bit and gave him a present. He really wanted Jazz to come and since that wasn't going to happen, Chelsea suggested printing one of the pictures of Jazz and Dakota that we have and putting it in a frame for him. I already had bought him a Noah's Ark magnetic quiet activity thing, but I ended up getting a wood frame and glued puppy prints scrapbook paper to it. Then I put a picture in it and gave that to him as well. He had been opening gifts for a while and was okay with it, not too terribly excited about anything. But then he opened the gift from me and when he saw the picture of Jazz he had a huge smile and was done opening presents!
When Chase and I left his party it was POURING!! We were completely soaked by the time we got to the car which was actually very close. As I ran to the car, I was running through puddles of warm water up to my ankles. It was awesome! Especially after all of the heat and fires we have been having.
I made a couple of new patchwork blankets for the shop and I am very please with the way that they turned out!
